Sample Four-Year Plan including a semester abroad

NOTE: These 4-year plans show how you might complete courses to meet graduation requirements in the HDFS child and adolescent development concentration while studying abroad for one semester of junior year. Many courses, especially those meeting campus General Education requirements, may be taken in a different order than is shown here. However, most HDFS courses must be taken in the semester and year shown to enable you study abroad and not miss completing your degree requriements in four years.

Students planning to study abroad should not expect to find HDFS courses available at most foreign institutions. However, many offer courses that may be applied toward General Education humanities and cultural studies requirements. Consult your academic advisor and the ACES or UIUC Study Abroad Office to plan how to include a semester abroad while still completing your graduation requirements in a timely way.
