Nicole B. Gross

Nikki, the daughter of Deborah and Arnold Gross, graduated from Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. She is interested in working with special needs children as an occupational therapist.

Nikki was a member of the National Honor Society and was involved in Operation Snowball, the Stevenson Theater Outreach Program, the Stevenson Dance Company, and played intramural sports.

During several summers Nikki worked as a camp counselor and she volunteered in a theater program for teens with special needs. She is also co-founder and student director of PROUD (People Rallying to Oppose Underage Drinking), a group that encourages teens not to drink and to help parents encourage them to act responsibly. She received the Stevenson Patriot Award for her work in the organization.

On campus, Nikki participates in Pre-Occupational Therapy Club and Illini Pride.

Nikki’s JBT scholarship is funded by the James R. and Helen Davies Scholarship Fund.

Bridget P. O'Connell

Bridget P. O'Connell Profile Picture

Bridget, the daughter of Mary Frances and Thomas Farrell, graduated from Hinsdale South High School in Darien, Illinois. She would like to be a child life specialist, helping hospitalized children understand their medical procedures and diagnoses.

Bridget made the Dean’s List throughout high school and was a member of the National Honor Society. She was editor of the yearbook and a member of Key Club, French Club, Cosmopolitan Club, and photography club. Bridget was also a peer leader and part of Snowflake and Snowball. Of special interest to her was working with special education students. She was awarded a General Assembly Scholarship and an American Association of University Women Scholarship.

In the community, Bridget was very active in her church and worked as a day camp counselor for SEASPAR (South East Association for Special Parks and Recreation) helping special needs children.

On campus, Bridget is one of the Irish Illini, Illini Pride, and HIP Club (Human Interest Professionals, a volunteer organization).
